Feeling crafty...

Wyatt has turned into a beaver. At least that is what his crib tells me...

He has started to gnaw on his crib...so I set out to find some crib rail protectors...which I couldn't find. My cousin suggested that I just make them...so........amid all the things I should be doing (packing), I made my own crib rail protectors to keep them safe from Wyatt's biting...and to keep him from eating his crib! Here are some pics...

Amazing carpet cleaner...check it out!

Wyatt is in the phase now where he is really starting to work at feeding himself finger foods. Possibly a bit behind in this because his mommy is freaked out that he'll choke! He's doing a pretty good job and I think his mommy is doing a bit better too:)
I am sure that most of you moms out there can understand this phase we are entering...eating takes a bit longer and it's starting to get super messy! Food gets into places I didn't even know existed! Wyatt has also discovered the art of spitting...(Lord, give me patience!:)
In this new phase I have discovered an amazing carpet cleaner...It's been around for ages, yes, ages...and in this picture of Wyatt, it's sitting just under his highchair...the D-O-G!:) While Bailey can be super annoying at times, I LOVE her! She parks herself right under Wyatt's highchair at EVERY meal! She licks up ANYTHING that falls to the ground the instant it hits. I may never have to clean the floor again;) If you don't have one of these amazing creations...consider picking one up today!:)

Thankful

It hardly seems possible that my little baby boy is 10 months old today. How can it be that in just two short months he will be a year old?! I think of how tiny he was when we brought him home and how I loved just holding him. I wonder if I've treasured those moments enough to last me a lifetime. I realize now, how fast he is growing and I am trying to do my best to treasure each new thing because I know he will soon grow out of that and move on to the next new adventure.
I am so thankful as I think of how much God has blessed us with Wyatt. He brings such joy to us...he makes me want to do more, be more, know God more...I am thankful for the families we were raised in...the godly influences...thankful that we can pass on that same heritage to Wyatt. We are so blessed.
This past weekend was the first time I ever left Wyatt overnight...I knew it would be something that came sooner or later...I guess it's just that first time that's tough. But knowing that he would be with family who would take such good care of him was so comforting...again, something I am so thankful for. It was hard knowing I wasn't there to sing to him before bed, or read him stories at naptime, or play with him, or hear his laugh...but I knew he'd be fine...and that I'd be okay too. Everything did turn out great, just like I knew it would...but it was so great to be back with Wyatt again. I was going to include some pictures I received of Wyatt while we were gone, but for whatever reason, I can't get them on my computer right now...so here is one of my favorite pics of him...it's from a photo shoot of the Cripe grandkids...enjoy!

Nap time?

Today I put Wyatt down for his morning nap...a little while later I heard him laughing and I heard a banging noise. I peeked into his room and this is what I saw:) Definitely not napping! What a stinker! I guess I need to find a new place for his hamper!

"Hammer-man" II?

I have heard of my husbands obsession with hammers when he was a kid...hitting things, people, etc. I am now wondering if our son has developed this same love for a hammer??? He has this little toy hammer that he carries everywhere! And he too, hits everything with it! His toys, the floor lamp, even the dog! It's quite funny...

Wyatt has really changed a lot this last month...I can't believe just how much! People always tell you they grow fast and now I believe it! Just in the last month he has started crawling, pulling himself up on things (he just stood up for daddy, mommy missed it!), he's getting his top two teeth in...I am just amazed at watching the process unfold...how incredible God is to have created us in such a neat way.
Here's a pic of Wyatt, in his crib, apparently wanting out...of course I had to snap a few pics first!:) He's also started sitting up in his crib in this last month...it was such a funny thing the first time I saw him do it:)

Wyatt's 9 month appointment

Wyatt finally had his 9 month appointment Friday. It had been cancelled last week, due to the "blizzard". Here are his stats:

Weight: 20 lbs. 8 oz. 50th percentile
Height: 28 3/4" 75th percentile

He is in great health! He had a cold the other week that seemed to last forever, but his Dr. said he sounds and looks great! I am definitely amazed at how quickly he changes...Within the last 2 weeks he went from rocking on his hands and knees to crawling all over and pulling up on his knees. Now he tries to get all his toys out of his basket by himself. Amazing. What a miracle God makes out of each of us. Every night when I see him in his crib I am amazed by how much he has grown in just 9 months...and I wonder what will he be like in another month, in a year, in 10 years...what will he become? I am so thankful for a God who is there with us every step of the way! I can't wait to see who Wyatt becomes!
For some additional enjoyment, I have included a video of Wyatt demonstrating his new way of playing with a toy that he got at Christmas time

9 months old today!

Wyatt is 9 months old! I have no idea how 9 months has passed already since we welcomed our sweet bundle of joy. Thinking back to that day, I can't believe how much he has changed...it's incredible to watch him grow and learn new things. It's so exciting to see him do something new!
Here are some recent pictures that describe a day in the life of Wyatt...

Rolling...hop-crawling....rocking on his knees...

reading books...

playing with his toys...

riding in his carseat...

sleeping in his carseat...notice that his hat is NOT on his head where it should be!...

playing in the snow...or not...didn't care much for the snow...
chewing on things...

with his TWO BIG TEETH!...

just being a boy and demonstrating how NOT to use the ball popper...

and pretty much, just being as cute as ever, and entertaining his parents!
