All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth...

Well, maybe just one bottom tooth poking through! Wyatt is getting his first tooth! We just noticed it about a week and a half ago and now it has definitely come through! So cute! He's been doing great and hasn't been fussy. We are so spoiled with such a good little guy:) Here are some fun pictures from the past month to enjoy...

He loves making this face! Cracks us up!

A golden star to the person who can tell me where we are in these pictures!

Thought I'd have him try on his new winter hat! He looks like a little centurion!

Wyatt's baby dedication

On November 28, 2010, we had the opportunity to have Wyatt dedicated at church. What a great responsibility we have been given as parents, to raise our son to know the Lord! I am thankful that we are able to stand up and say this is how we want to raise him. I am thankful that God has blessed us with a child. I realize that it won't always be an easy road, but I know that we must build our family's foundation on Christ and raise our children to do the same. I am so thankful that God is with us every step of the way! Here are some pics from the service...

A conversation with Wyatt

Thought I'd share a typical conversation with Wyatt....

Me: "Say ma-ma"

Wyatt: "Da-da"

Me: "Say ma-ma"

Wyatt: "Da-da"

Usually he just says "dadadadadada", but no mama yet. Oh well, he is certainly a mama's boy, so I guess that will have to do for now:)

Figured I'd better share a picture too...

Here is a picture of our dashing young guy at Josh & Erin's wedding...(Josh is Clint's cousin)

Wyatt did good and enjoyed dancing at the reception!:)

Wyatt is 6 months old! (Well...6 1/2)

I guess I'm a little behind in updating on Wyatt turning 6 months (which was November 1)! He had is check-up on the 4th and here are his current stats:

Weight: 15 pounds 2 ounces (10th percentile)

Height: 26 1/2 inches (50th percentile)

Appears that everything is normal...and he is doing great!:) We've really started working with him on sitting and he's been doing pretty well with that. We also just started him on cereal...that was a fun experience:) Here is a pic of him eating in his new highchair:)

Wyatt meets Fall...and pumpkins

Since this is Wyatt's first Autumn, I figured that I needed to get his picture taken with some pumpkins! This was easier said than done!:) Here is the progression of our "photo shoot"!

Here is Wyatt's first introduction to pumpkins.....probably the best pic I got...(of course my hand has to be in the shot!)

Wyatt looking a little unsure of his surroundings...

Wyatt discovers crunchy leaves.......

Wyatt trying to eat the leaves.......:) (Of course I HAD to snap the shot before taking the leaf from him!)

And the inevitable....this was what brought our photo shoot to a grinding halt! Not sure if it was the crunchy leaves, the cold, or the fact that I took the leaf away.....But we did get a few cute pics in when daddy got home...here are those....I still think his very first pic was the best:)

Wyatt's favorite things

Wyatt will soon be SIX MONTHS old! I can hardly believe it! It's amazing the changes that he's gone through already...and seeing the new things he is learning and doing...it's incredible! So, as we're approaching the six month mark, I thought I'd post some pictures of Wyatt's current favorite things:) Enjoy!

He loves eating his feet...

sucking on his bottom lip...

watching Bailey...

playing with his feet and pulling his socks off...

playing with his toys...

his mommy...

sucking on this tag on his inch worm...

chewing on his fingers...

and pretty much looking cute ALL the time!:)

Wyatt and his cousins

It's been too long since my last post...and I need to get some new pictures up! Since baby Wesley finally got here today, I thought I'd post some pics of Wyatt with his cousins!:) He has a couple older cousins, but also a couple that arrived after him! Here are some pics with each of them!

This picture was taken at the beginning of August when Wyatt's cousin Henry was born! Here is Wyatt with his new cousin Henry and big cousin Cole! I have a feeling these 3 will have a lot of fun together!

This is Wyatt at the end of August with his big cousin Riley! I think when the boys are big enough, she'll be telling them all what to do!:)

Last but not least, here are Wyatt and cousin Wesley meeting for the first time today! I bet these two might be pretty mischevious someday! Now grandma and grandpa each have a baby to hold!

Scary moment with Wyatt

I am sure that this is just the first of many times that Wyatt will scare his parents, but I pray that I don't have to go through this again!

On Friday evening, I was nursing Wyatt and had set him up to burp, he did burp a tiny bit so I knew he had more. But all of a sudden he started screaming this scary scream that I'd never heard before. I told Clint that something was wrong...cause this wasn't normal. It was almost a grunting sort of scream, as if he were choking and trying to get something out...but what in the world could he be choking on?!?! So Clint thought he'd try burping him...Wyatt continued to scream like this and he kinda went all lethargic. This is when I noticed that he seemed to be turning blue and going pale! I grabbed him from Clint and told him to call his mom (a nurse) or call 911. We didn't know what to do. Wyatt began sweating profusely all over his neck and face. Since it seemed as though he was "choking" I ended up laying him over my lap to push on his belly while I patted his back.

At this point Clint had already called 911 and we could hear the sirens...As I was patting his back like this, it sounded as though air was released from him or something like that...so I sat him up and he stopped screaming. By the time the paramedics got there, which was super fast, he was smiling at them...crazy boy! They said that he sounded fine and that everything seemed okay! He was still very pale and it took about a half hour for his color to return to normal. We ended up deciding to call his dr. to see what she would say...and she said that it did sound like a choking episode...had no clue you could choke on breastmilk! We are thinking that it may have been like having something going down the "wrong pipe".

Wyatt has been fine ever since, but we were certainly on edge for the rest of that night! Since Wyatt is a boy, I am sure that he will scare his mommy in lots of other ways in the future, just praying that this was a freak thing that we won't have to go through again! As we went through this, I was reminded of Abraham and how he had to trust God with his child...and not that I'm comparing myself to Abraham, I just thought of how I needed to trust Wyatt to the Lord and be thankful for each day with him!

Wyatt is 4 Months old!

Wyatt just reached the 4 month mark yesterday! He celebrated by rolling from his back to his tummy a few times! He had rolled once about a week and a half ago, but wouldn't do it again until now! This morning he rolled a couple more times!:)

Today he had his 4 month dr. appt. He weighed in at 14 lbs. 8 oz. and was 25 3/4 inches long! 50th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for height. A bit of a change from his 2 month appt. where he was in the 90th for both height and weight! Dr. said he is doing good! And mommy survived the shots without crying this time:)

Here is a picture of Wyatt's favorite thing to do right now.....loves to grab his feet! So cute!:)

I will post some more pictures soon!

Wyatt Alvin Cripe

I wanted to share with you the story of Wyatt's arrival! Don't worry, it's not graphic:)
May 1, 2010 was just a typical Saturday...although Clint did not have to work, which isn't normal for a Saturday! That morning, we decided to go for a walk, hoping that this would trigger labor! Well, apparently that worked for us! What I thought would be a nice walk ended up turning into an hour long walk! Not being able to move as fast as I once was able to, I didn't realize how long it would take me to get around!:) We got home, ate lunch, and Clint decided to go mushroom hunting with his dad. It was about two hours after our walk when the contractions started!
I was completely in denial, just assuming that these were braxton hicks contractions and not the real thing. But they started to get a little more intense and I was starting to wonder when Clint would be coming home!:) When he did arrive home, we called his mom and aunt Sue to get an idea from the nurses of when they thought we should go to the hospital. I seem to recall Clint saying, "She thinks she is having contractions". I'm pretty sure I threw something at him...I didn't think anything, I knew that's what was happening! By about 5:30 or so, they were getting pretty close together...they were painful, but I thought I would be dying when I had them and I wasn't...so I'm still assuming they're fake...haha. When Clint told his mom that I was lying in the fetal position, she told us to get to the hospital!
We arrived at about 6:45 and the nurse said that I was already dilated 4 cm and ready to go! I assumed she'd send us home!:) It was at this time when they realized that Wyatt's heart rate was dropping every time I had a contraction...and all at once there were tons of nurses surrounding us. It was a bit scary for both of us! Dr. Weaver arrived and explained that the cord was probably wrapped and that she would most likely need to do an emergency c-section. Not what I wanted to hear, but I knew I needed to trust her. It's so neat how God works in moments like that and just covers you in peace! I knew I just needed to trust that Dr. Weaver would do what was best for Wyatt and me. So, once the decision was final, Wyatt was born at 8:09 pm! Clint said the cord was wrapped around his neck and around his body! So thankful for the technology we have these days, otherwise our little guy might not be here! He was healthy and perfect!
What a day! We couldn't believe it all happened within a matter of a few hours! We had told Wyatt that he couldn't come on Friday because his daddy had a big sale, but that it would be great if he came Saturday...and he did!:) Hopefully a sign of things to come:) And having the baby about an hour after arriving, wow! Praise God for His protection and His sweet blessings!
